I recently had the pleasure of working with Matt Barse.  My husband and I built a new home and I was given his name by a designer.  I had already gone to one of the “bigger” cabinet makers and was looking to compare ideas and quotes.   I had a folder full of pictures and ideas, but wasn’t exactly sure how to put them together.  His drawings blew the competition out of the water!  He was able to use my scattered ideas and somehow turn them into exactly what I had envisioned.  With the help of him and his incredibly skilled craftsman, we were able to come up with unique details and finishes.  In addition to getting these wonderful cabinets, he also provided me with the best granite and appliance people that I had ever had worked with.

I have spoken about the beauty and fine quality of my cabinets, but I should also talk a bit about Matt himself.  Matt is definitely one of the my favorite subcontractors.  His fun and easy going personality make him a joy to work with.  He is  very much a family man, takes pride in what he does, and is simply honest.   I respect these qualities and believe they aide in making the process go smoothly.  It was a pleasure to work with such a talented and skilled individual.  I couldn’t be happier with the end result and would definitely recommend Matt Barse Designs and Cabinetry.

I live in an older log home and wanted my kitchen remodeled. I talked to Matt and we came up with a plan. I chose a light yellow custom finish on hickory, since my inside walls are all pine. I needed a large island and it turned out beautifully. I am so pleased with my new kitchen and the work Matt has done. He thought of every little detail and I am well pleased.

“Matt was amazing to work with when we remodeled our kitchen! I knew what I had in mind and he made it a reality. He was so easy to work with and was there every step of the way! Couldn’t have asked for a better remodel and Matt made the whole process so smooth! Thanks Matt!”

Who We Are

Matt Barse has been in the custom cabinetry business for over 30 years.  Matt started out working for $5.25 an hour installing custom cabinetry.  He enjoyed learning from those that had been installing custom cabinetry for years before him.  He learned so much about every aspect of installation and how this step is just as important as the craftsmanship of making the cabinets.  A poor installation job would defeat the whole purpose of a well designed and custom built project.  Some days Matt would be asked to stay in the plant and actually get to help build the cabinetry and see how hard these craftsmen work and how many important steps go into the completion of true custom quality projects.  Little did he know that this experience would be of great value to him as his career in this field continued.

After many years of learning and growing in this very intriguing field, Matt was asked to become part of the sales and design team at this same custom cabinet company in the heart of the Amish community.  Matt was blessed with the gift of working for his father-in-law that he says is one of his biggest inspirations and mentor’s leading to his success!  His father-in-law, Lowell Stuckey, retired after 48 years of sales and design for this same company.  Before his retirement, Matt was privileged to work by his side every day for 15 years learning every detail of designing, selling, taking excellent care of the customers and all of those intricate details it takes to be an asset in this very specialized field.   It’s all about listening to the customer and finding out what their hopes and dreams are for their project and then going to work on designing their dreams and making their project unique and special – everyone deserves their own masterpiece.   He loves to help them bring their dreams to life!  At the initial meeting with the customer, Matt goes to work on the design and still, to this very day, creates old-fashioned, pencil drawings of the entire project giving the customer the real life perspective of what their finished project will look like.  This is a rarity in this market today and the fast paced society we live in today.   Matt then works with each client from A to Z.   He will do as much or as little as the client requests such as bringing them samples, going with them to pick out that perfect piece of granite for their project, picking out appliances, arranging for plumbers, electricians, flooring, decorators and whatever else the project calls for.  He wants his clients to sit back and relax as the process takes place.  Matt’s clients become more than “clients”, they become friends.

Matt’s diverse experience over the past 30 years have evolved into him starting what has ultimately been a dream of his, his own business, Matt Barse Designs & Cabinetry, LLC.  Matt can now take all of these years of experience and blend them into being able to work with people and helping their dreams become reality with even more opportunities available to his clients.  No job is too small or too big for Matt to help you with………………..even down to that specialized piece of furniture you have been wanting designed and custom built.  If you can dream it, Matt will design it for you and have it custom created in the heart of the Amish community.  In addition to all of your cabinetry needs, Matt enjoys handling your remodeling and room additions.  All are areas that Matt has utmost expertise with.  Matt is always happy to provide a free quote for you.  You will be pleasantly surprised at how affordable your dreams actually are!

Thank you, in advance, for considering Matt Barse Designs & Cabinetry, LLC, for your next project.  He looks forward to helping you make your dreams come true!
